About the Project
Diversify aims at promoting active, intercultural, and antiracist citizenship by enhancing the emancipatory and intercultural competencies of young people, educators and communities while supporting the decolonization of educational perspectives, combating
racism and discrimination and fostering the creation of inclusive, fair and just
environments, including schools, reception centres, and the juvenile detention system. In this way, the project has a 360-degree approach, not focusing on one target but on many: local and newly arrived young people, social workers, teachers, detention staff, and indirectly the whole community (through the public initiatives and campaign).
Activities
- Interactive educational meetings in schools and universities about racism, discrimination, global inequalities and the right to safe mobility
- Trainings in anti-racism education, intercultural communication, and diversity management
- A digital anti-racist education toolkit for youth workers, educators and social workers
- Intercultural active participation workshops for youth
- A mixed-team football tournament promoting fair play, inclusion and anti-racism
- Collective actions (volunteering, intercultural events, public assemblies) for and by youth
- A youth-led online campaign on “Decolonizing Anti-racism” and a launch event in Palermo
- Musical activities (drumming and rap sessions) in juvenile detention centres.
