The Case Law Database is a resource intended for law practitioners, researchers and human rights organisations active in the fields of human rights and access to justice.
Pourquoi ?
The Case Law Database presents the rulings and decisions of national and regional judicial and quasi-judicial bodies covering various of ASF’s thematic areas of intervention. For each case, a summary is provided of the facts of the case, the procedural history, and the key jurisprudential elements of the ruling. A copy of the ruling is also made available.

Civic Space
This database lists court rulings on three fundamental freedoms – freedom of expression, freedom of association and freedom of assembly – handed down by Burundian, Ugandan and Tanzanian national courts as well as regional courts. It was financed by Belgium’s Directorate General for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid, and developed in collaboration with the Ugandan non-governmental organization Chapter Four.

International crimes and serious human rights violations
This database covers criminal cases brought before national, hybrid and regional courts for international crimes (war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide) and other serious human rights violations committed in times of war or peace and by state or non-state actors. The database was developed with the support of the European Union.
