Strengthening the rule of law and respect for human rights, guaranteeing access to justice and economic and social rights for all and protecting civic space

Morocco

  • Objective: To promote and strengthen the rule of law and the protection of human rights through the establishment of accessible access to justice mechanisms for people in vulnerable situations and more effective mobilisation of civil society actors in evidence-based advocacy.
  • Expected results:
    • The protection and care of people in vulnerable situations, with particular attention to women victims of violence and/or discrimination and migrants, is improved through the existence of access to justice mechanisms integrated into public services (including through legal clinics and CSO listening and care centres);
    • The influence and advocacy capacities of civil society organisations are strengthened, particularly in terms of monitoring the penal chain and the right to a fair trial, with a focus on detention conditions;
    • Moroccan civil society actively contributes to the international debate on the development of business and human rights standards.
