The Flemish Law students Societies (VRGs) of the universities of Ghent and Brussels have recently taken action in favour of Avocats Sans Frontières. Inspired by last year’s fundraising activities of their colleagues of the Catholic University of Leuven, the law students in Ghent and Brussels decided to support ASF projects as well.

On 9 June 2013, the Flemish Bar Association held its annual Lawyers’ Run. Around 450 lawyers and their families gathered to take part in the run. This year, Avocats Sans Frontières (ASF), celebrates its twentieth anniversary. Some 150 friends, donors and ASF staff blew out twenty birthday candles last night in the heart of Brussels, where the organization was created and where it remains today.

For several weeks now, ING Privalis clients have been greeted by an unusual message: ING has been distributing posters and leaflets from Avocats Sans Frontières’ “Open Your Eyes to Injustice” campaign in eight of the bank’s branches.

Brussels, June 16, 2012 – Avocats Sans Frontières (ASF) is launching an awareness campaign on the need to support justice in post-conflict and developing countries.

Avocats Sans Frontières (ASF) actively participated in the 2012 Flemish Lawyer’s Day,which was held May 11th in Kortrijk. The event, which targeted lawyers in Flanders, was the perfect opportunity to better communicate the activities of ASF.

Solicitor General Mr Grootjans recently handed over a cheque for 20,000 Euros to Avocats Sans Frontières President Hafida Talhaoui. This donation concretises the valuable support which the lawyers of Antwerp have given to ASF for almost ten years.

On the twentieth anniversary of Avocats Sans Frontières, the French-speaking Bar association of Brussels paid tribute to the NGO founded in Belgium.
